Rowena was born in New York, NY and grew up mostly in Stamford, CT. After earning her undergraduate degree at Boston College, she worked for three years as an event planner managing conferences for Gartner, an IT consulting firm. She was accepted into the NYC Teaching Fellows program and earned a Master’s degree in teaching at Fordham University. She taught for eight years at two different NYC public high schools as an English teacher. In 2016, she relocated to Denver taking a year sabbatical to write and explore her new city. Missing being in the classroom and educating youth, she returned to education as a teacher at Peak and at a local KIPP high school in the fall of 2017. In her free time, she enjoys writing, hiking, and traveling, as well as running her online skincare business.
