B.A. History (UTeach Program) – The University of Texas at Austin
Max was born in a home of educators and knew he wanted to become a resource for middle and high school students since HE was in high school. Leaving Florida for warmer weather, Max landed in the UTeach Program at the University of Texas where he completed the degree and teaching-licensure program, and wrote weekly articles for The Daily Texan promoting small businesses and local industry. After his time at UT, Max served Central Texas as an Area Coordinator for Group Excellence Mentoring and Tutoring where he designed and facilitated tutoring programs for at-risk high school students. In 2011, he returned home to Florida as a Student Services Advisor at Daytona State College where he advised prospective students on four-year, two-year, and certificate programs as well as scholarship opportunities, career goals, and transfer options for graduates. Now he assists Metropolitan State University of Denver students as a full-time transfer counselor. A fan of useless facts, history, and cooking at home, Max welcomes all trivia, timelines, and new recipes to try.
