Katie Arnolds

Katie grew up in Denver and attended East High School, she spent her junior year of high school living in Chile where she learned to speak Spanish. Katie received her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Anthropology at the University of California Santa Cruz. After graduation she took some time to travel and volunteer both locally and abroad. She then earned an MS in Biology from the University of San Francisco where she taught undergraduate Biology courses and graduate Biotechnology courses.

Katie is now back in Denver and pursing a PhD in Microbiology at University of Colorado Denver Medical Campus. She studies infectious diseases and is focused on the importance of communicating science to the public; she writes a health column for the Guatemalan periodical Contrapoder and is a guest author for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science blog.

Her free time is spent in the mountains, traveling, or cooking for friends and family.
