Joyce’s philosophy on teaching mathematics is to use hands-on activities to help them discover their own meaning and understanding of the discipline. Her favorite activates include skiing and snowshoeing in the winter as well as hiking and camping in the summer. She does most of these activities with her beloved golden retriever Kozmic. She also Jazzercises 4 to 5 times a week to stay in shape.
